Network Droids is a proud Proxmox partner. We don’t just recommend it — we run our own infrastructure on it and have done from the start.
Why We Chose Proxmox
As a company focused on network automation and NetDevOps, we needed serious infrastructure to support our work — lab environments, CI/CD runners, development platforms, automation tooling, and customer project environments. We needed compute, storage, and virtualisation that we could rely on.
Going cloud-first wasn’t the right fit for us, and we know we’re not alone in that. Like many businesses, we handle sensitive data — our own and our customers’. Keeping that data in-house, on infrastructure we control and understand, was a non-negotiable. We wanted full visibility, full control, and no surprises on a monthly bill that scales with usage.
We evaluated the options and landed on Proxmox. It gave us everything we needed — KVM virtualisation, LXC containers, software-defined storage, clustering, high availability, and backup — all on a single, open-source platform. No per-socket licensing fees, no vendor lock-in, and no artificial feature gates behind expensive enterprise tiers.
We built out our own private cloud environment on Proxmox and it’s been the backbone of our operations ever since. Our automation pipelines run on it, our labs run on it, our development environments run on it. We know the platform inside out because we use it every day.
From Users to Partners
Having built and operated our own Proxmox infrastructure, we saw an opportunity to help other organisations do the same. We became official Proxmox partners so we could combine our hands-on experience with the platform with our networking and infrastructure expertise to offer a complete service.
What makes us different from a generic virtualisation consultancy is that we come at Proxmox from a networking and automation background. We understand the underlying network infrastructure that Proxmox clusters depend on — VLANs, bonding, SDN, storage networks, firewall integration — and we design and implement Proxmox environments with that full-stack view in mind.
What We Offer
Implementation and deployment
We design and deploy Proxmox environments from scratch — from hardware selection and network design through to a fully operational cluster. We handle the networking, storage configuration, cluster setup, and high availability configuration so everything works together as a cohesive platform.
Migration
Moving off VMware, Hyper-V, or another virtualisation platform? We can plan and execute migrations to Proxmox, including VM conversion, network reconfiguration, and storage migration. We’ve helped organisations significantly reduce their virtualisation costs by moving to Proxmox without compromising on features or reliability.
Networking for Proxmox
This is where our core expertise really adds value. Proxmox’s software-defined networking, VLAN configuration, bonding, and storage network design all sit squarely in our wheelhouse. We ensure your Proxmox networking is properly designed — redundant, performant, and secure — not just thrown together with default settings.
Backup and disaster recovery
We implement Proxmox Backup Server alongside Proxmox VE to deliver reliable, tested backup and recovery. We don’t just configure backups — we verify they work, document recovery procedures, and help you build confidence that you can recover when it matters.
Hosted off-site backup
A solid backup strategy means nothing if all your copies sit in the same building. We offer hosted Proxmox Backup Server as a service, giving your organisation a secure, off-site backup target managed by us. Your on-premises Proxmox environment replicates backups to our infrastructure automatically, giving you a genuine off-site copy without the complexity of managing it yourself.
For clients who need to go further, we also provide tape backup services. Tape remains one of the most reliable and cost-effective media for long-term retention and air-gapped storage. Combined with on-site and hosted backups, this gives you a complete 3-2-1 backup strategy — three copies of your data, on two different media types, with one copy stored off-site. It’s the gold standard for data protection, and we make it straightforward to achieve with Proxmox.
Automation and infrastructure as code
Because we’re an automation-first company, we can help you manage your Proxmox infrastructure programmatically. This includes automated VM provisioning, template management, configuration through the Proxmox API, and integration with your existing CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling.
